Implementasi Konseling Berbasis Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam Mengatasi Stres Akademik pada Mahasiswa

Abstract
This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of artificial intelligence (AI)-based counseling in overcoming academic stress in 5th semester students of the Bakti Negara Islamic Institute (IBN) Tegal for the 2024/2025 academic year. The problems raised were the high level of academic stress among students and limited access to traditional counseling services. The research method used is a qualitative approach with thematic analysis. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 15 students who had used AI-based counseling services. The research results show that AI-based counseling services have advantages in terms of accessibility and quick response, which are appreciated by students. However, there are limitations in aspects of empathy and human interaction, where some students feel that the emotional support provided is less in-depth than face-to-face counseling. The implications of these findings indicate that AI-based counseling can be an alternative or complement to traditional counseling services in dealing with academic stress, provided that there is a need for improvements in aspects of empathy and personalization of services. It is recommended that educational institutions consider implementing AI-based counseling services as part of mental health support for students, as well as conducting further research to examine its long-term effectiveness and impact on student well-being.
